Monday Mix 170925: Phoenix, New Order, Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, Chris Connelly, 1000 Homo DJs
Sort of a slow descent. Trying to capture the heavy side of pop, especially in synth music which can be very light.
Some of my favorite "industrial" is just really heavy pop music.

Monday Mix 170918: Holy Ghost, UGK, The Kinks, Sturgill Simpson, Lil Wayne, Vanilla Ice
A real smattering of tracks.
"Jam For Jerry" is an energetic feel-good number. A touch of sadness in it gives it weight. Drum break in "Shangri-La" gets me every time.
That whole Sturgill Simpson album is so good and engaging. Picked this cut because I think it shows me something new about a song I already love.
Hustler Musik -- one of the best C&S treatments I have heard. Perfect for the tone of the song.
Lastly, the sampled bass from "Under Pressure" gets a lot of credit for making "Ice Ice Baby" a hit, but I think that rolling Miami bass gives the song staying power.

This is the list that started the idea of the Monday Mix series.
Bass in "Can I Sit Next To You" and "Attention" is the kernel notion.
A pleasant walk on a pleasant fall afternoon was the guiding trajectory.
